SOLUS is an abbreviation for the Latin phrase Solus Christus which means Christ Alone. It is one of the 5 Solas of the Protestant Reformation, declaring that Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man. Solus Christus proclaims that salvation is obtained through the atoning work of the cross of Christ alone, fully apart from our own works. The big idea is that it’s all about Jesus. It’s all because of Jesus, it’s all through Jesus, and ultimately, it’s all for Jesus.
“For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be the glory forever. Amen.” //Romans 11:36
To see Jesus at the center of all things, one life at a time.
The vision of Solus Church is rooted in a desire to see God’s will done in South Florida as it is in Heaven. In Heaven, we see all things revolving around Jesus. He alone is at the center and, as a result, all life perfectly flows from Him (Revelation 4:9-11). We long for the same to be true of our community through the Gospel, and believe that it all starts with just one life. Whether it’s a neighbor, coworker, family member, or classmate, it begins with individual lives that are led to find life with Jesus at the center. As these separate lives are united together, they grow to become a community through the work of God - a church family with Jesus at the center. Finally, as this community lives with a Christ-centered purpose, the surrounding world is able to experience the transforming power of heaven’s Gospel. As we look ahead, we don’t just see our community for what it is - broken and off-centered by sin - we see our community for what it could be through the Gospel - restored and re-centered by Jesus. It’s for that reason that our vision is to see Jesus at the center of all things, one life at a time.

Andrew Lundy grew up in Boca Raton immersed in the skateboarding culture of South Florida. He came to trust in Christ through the spiritual investment of his parents and the church community of Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale. He met and fell in love with his wife, Brittany, at a discipleship school in the Bahamas, which served as a defining season of direction and calling for both their lives.
As a young and newly wed married couple they began serving Jesus together in High School Ministry at Calvary Chapel where Andrew served as a youth pastor for several years. With a mutual heart for the “harvest” described in Matthew 9:35-38, they would talk and pray often about going as “laborers” to those who had not yet come to the saving knowledge of Jesus. Their burden was founded on the Apostle Paul’s question in Romans 10:14, “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?”
Eventually, in His perfect time, God would develop that stir to go into a call to plant a church in the very community in which they were both born and raised. After spending a year at Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale in a Church Planters Training Program, the time had come to step out in faith to pursue God’s call and plant Solus Church in Boca Raton, FL. As native South Floridians – Andrew being a native of Boca – they both care deeply about the ministry of the gospel and local church in this area. There is tremendous excitement and expectation in both of their hearts for the work that Jesus is going to do in and through Solus Church!
Andrew and Brittany currently live in Boca with three their children, Judah, Evelyn “Evie”, and Penelope “Penny”, and golden retriever, Cooper.
